Portuguese Beginners Level 1

This course will suit beginners who have no previous knowledge of Portuguese or those who know some words but are unable to build full sentences. The focus of the course is on conversation and you will learn a little basic grammar so that you can begin to manipulate the language. The course will help you to communicate effectively in authentic situations, to ask for information in various contexts and to talk about yourself, your occupation and your family. It will give you the ability to recognise simple spoken and written Portuguese and the opportunity to discover the cultural aspects of Brazil and Portugal. By the end of the course you will have been given the opportunity to: learn how to great people and give personal information (job, nationality, age); talk about family members; learn specific vocabulary for situations involving holidays such as asking for and understanding directions and ordering at a café; talk about likes and dislikes; tell the time; learn basic grammar; engage in short dialogues and simple social conversations and explore some cultural aspects of Brazil and Portugal.
