Course Aims

Who Should Attend This course is a requirement for anyone who needs to implement a safe system of work to enable activities to be carried out by a group of persons in a red or green zone.The Controller of Site Safety course aims to train staff to correctly determine their responsibilities and duties when acting as a Controller of Site Safety (COSS) when setting up a safe system of work on or near the line.Attendance Requirements Participants must be at least 18 Years of age and have sponsorship by a Link-up approved organisation with an NCCA Site I.D, a valid Network Rail approved medical certificate, negative alcohol and drugs screening certificate, and a valid PTS certificate.The NCCA coordinator must complete the Rail Sponsor Form - click here to download.** failure to provide the mandatory requirements above means you cannot attend this course **Prior to attending a COSS SWL 1 Conversion and ES to SWL 2 Conversion course, all Participants need to have completed the E-Learning assessment.The E-Learning assessment can be accessed on the Network Rail E-Learning systemOn successful completion of the E-Learning, the certificate should be printed and brought with the Participant on the day of the course.

Certification

All course results will be notified to the Rail Sentinel database and the Sentinel Smart Card of the individual will be updated.
