Course description

Certificate in Charity Law and Governance

Summary

This Level 4 course provides an introduction to the legal and regulatory framework around charities in England and Wales. It gives an understanding of the legal basis of the charity, the role of regulators and how to fulfil your charitable purpose whilst adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.

Study

Assessment of the course is via one exam (3 hours with 15 minutes reading time), and can be taken in June each year.

This course is based around a self-study model, and therefore requires a significant commitment to study, on top of the provided webinar sessions.

Recommended study time for the whole course is 200 hours (which includes all webinar sessions and the examination), which is approximately 8-9 months of study.

An electronic copy of the study text is given to you when your qualification registration is approved, however, you can purchase a hard copy from the our book shop.

Receive 75% off your course fee with a bursary from The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.

The Chartered Secretaries’ Charitable Trust is delighted to offer a bursary to up to six eligible students for the next exam session.
