You can relieve tension in your arms and wrists at the same time that you stretch out your legs and ankles!

Start by straightening both arms and legs out in front of you and draw circles with your hands and feet for a few seconds to release any tension. Remember to take calm and steady breaths, and keep the rhythm going as you do the rest of this stretch.

Now relax your muscles. We’ll do one side of the body at a time, starting with the left.

Make sure you’re sitting up straight and keeping your shoulders relaxed. Then straighten your left arm and left leg out in front of you, and point your fingers and toes towards the ceiling. You should feel the stretch in your fingers, wrists and your lower legs.

Hold this position for a few breaths. For a deeper stretch in your wrist and fingers, you can use your other hand to pull your fingers back towards you. You can also pull your toes further towards you for a deeper stretch in your calf muscle.

Then fold your left hand forward and point your fingers towards the floor as you extend your ankle and point your toes down as well. Use your right hand to pull your fingers towards you for a forearm stretch and hold these positions while you take a few breaths.

Then relax your muscles.

Then repeat this sequence with your right side!

This course is useful because it's been updated to cover newer ways of working, including standing desks and flexible, mobile working whilst at home, travelling, at coffee shops etc where a traditional setup isn't always available.

This was an easily accessible and very important training, especially considering the current situation of passing on infections.
