Course description
Japanese Beginners: The course aims for the 'survival' level of conversation and the basic grammar necessary for Beginner's level, together with the introduction of Japanese customs, culture and life in Japan. This course is ideal for those who have no or little knowledge of Japanese and want to experience the flavour of the language and learn some basic language skills.
We emphasise communicative skills, using pair work, role play and conversation practice. The first set of Japanese scripts, called Hiragana, is introduced and gradually taught so that students will be able to read and write Hiragana scripts. Some basic elements of Japanese grammar, as well as useful vocabulary and expressions, are introduced to enable students to understand the structure of the language.
