Course description

Access to Higher Education (Education)

Access to Higher Education (Education)

Those who become teachers have a strong desire to make a lasting difference in children’s lives and inspire them to achieve their goals in life.

Training to be a teacher is to embark on a learning journey that will culminate in an engaging and fulfilling career. Whether you plan on teaching primary or secondary education, you will get the opportunity to share your passion for learning.

This Access to Higher Education Diploma (Education) aims to provide you with the fundamental knowledge you need to study teaching at university. You will study the developing child and the psychology of learning as well as the influences of educational achievement.

The course will also teach you the basics of psychology including developmental psychology and the sociology of education. This will tie into managing behaviour in the classroom and the importance of play. You will also learn about the importance of safeguarding and equal opportunities.

This Access to Higher Education Diploma (Education) includes modules to prepare you for degree level studies including study techniques and how to write an assignment.
