Course description

HR Support – Level 3 Apprenticeship

Whether you are working in the HR team of a medium to large organisation or are the HR manager in a small organisation, this apprenticeship is designed for you.

Learners develop the core HR knowledge and skills required to provide excellent HR support. You will be expected to develop an understanding of HR processes and systems and be able to apply this as part of your role supporting the implementation of HR projects and services.

You will gain the skills needed to take ownership for providing advice to managers on a wide range of HR issues, using company policy and current law to give compliant guidance.

Suitability - Who should attend?

Entry Requirements for English and maths:

Apprentices are required to meet the initial entry points for English and maths as follows:

  • For level 2 Apprenticeship training for companies the minimum entry level for English and maths is ‘Entry level 3’ (E3).
  • For all level 3 and 4 Apprenticeship training for companies the minimum English and maths level 1, ideally level 2.
  • For level 5 and 6 Apprenticeship training for companies, the minimum English and maths should be level 2, some individual circumstances may be considered at level 1.

Initial assessment is completed prior to starting the course. All applicants will be supported to attain these entry levels prior to joining the course, or whilst on the course, where possible.

Apprentices working with young people and vulnerable adults would be required to hold a DBS clearance as necessary.

Eligibility:

You’ll need to be:

  • 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
  • living in England
  • not in full-time education

Continuing Studies

The successful apprentice may be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or any other professional body that recognises this apprenticeship within its membership criteria ;(membership is subject to the professional bodies own membership requirements).

It forms the foundation of a career within the profession, giving the base for further development through a career path within an organisation and/or through the HR Consultant/Partner apprenticeship. The apprentice can choose to stay within core HR or diversify into one of the specialist areas of HR.
