Course description
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a full-time Engineering course and continues on from the one year, BTEC Level 390 Credit Diploma in Engineering. This course is equivalent to three A Levels. It provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development and manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. The course is practical, work related and follows a manufacturing pathway developed by BTEC. Learning is achieved through the completion of projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The course is suitable for school leavers and young adults.

These actual units offered are subject to review and might differ from those listed above. Students with weaker grades in the 90 Credit Diploma would not be allowed to do units such as Further Mechanical Principles, Further Mathematics and CNC.
BTEC Level 3180-Credit Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels and is an entry qualification to various universities. Alternatively, students can progress onto the Higher National Diploma (HND) Engineering course at Kingston College or seek employment as an Advanced Engineering Apprentice.
