Course description
This course is for aspiring Producers, Artists, DJs, Live Sound Engineers and anyone interested in making and recording music. It offers students an insight into the Music Industry, Advanced Composition, Studio Production and Live Sound.
As well as utilising the College’s industry standard 5.1 surround sound Studio and industry level sequencing equipment / software, the course has units on Live Sound, Events Management, Marketing and Promotion. Students on the Extended Diploma, as part of their final major project, produce recordings to be released through the College’s own record label.
The 90 Credit qualification is a one year full-time course and is equivalent to 1.5 A-levels. The natural progression on successful completion is into a second year for completion of a full Extended Diploma; the Extended Diploma is equivalent to three A-levels. Some mature students however may choose to progress from the 90 Credit one year course directly into employment or alternative training.
