Course description

CACHE Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Setting (16-19 year olds):

The CACHE Level 1 Diploma in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children and Young People’s Settings is suitable for 16-19 year olds. This qualification is aimed at people considering a career in health and/or social care with adults or children and young people and will develop knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in these sectors. This includes the roles played by workers – from principles and values through to health and safety and working with others. This qualification does not qualify students to work directly with adults, children or young people but provides a starting point for deciding whether a career in the sector is right for them.

This will include looking at the range of roles within Health and Social Care (adults, children and young people), early years and chilcare, awareness for protection and safeguarding and an introduction to communication.

You may progress to the CACHE Level 2 Certificate or a BTEC Health & Social Care course. Selection is by interview and a satisfactory reference is required. However, you could consider further training or study in related fields such as an Apprenticeship or employment.
