This course prepares students for transition from the Supported Learning Provision to Level 1 vocational areas. For learners who may need support prior to entry into a Level 1 programme. Learners will benefit from the support of a specialist team where they will complete their English and Mathematics qualifications in addition to building on existing skills and achieving new targets.
This course runs over 3 days each week, helping students develop knowledge, understanding and skills needed to manage life and future opportunities. Includes practical sessions in vocational subjects, English and Mathematics delivered at the appropriate level for the individual. Personal learning programmes are designed to suit the learner in their choice of career path to aid progression. Progress to At College: Level 1 Vocational or Supported Internship. Outside College: Employment and/or Voluntary Work and/or other study.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Learners should be working at Entry Level 2 or above and need a commitment to completing the course. Suitability for the programme will be assessed both before joining and during the first four weeks of the course.
