This is an ideal entry level course if you are looking to gain work experience and study to progress on to a level 1 course. You will work towards an extended certificate in Vocational Studies, with choices of vocational pathwaysand have the opportunity to gain qualifications in English and maths. A number of vocational options are available (dependent on centre), including catering, joinery and DIY, sport and leisure, health and social care, art and design, art and media, horticulture, business and IT. You will take part in a range of activities to develop your employability and work related skills. You can go on to study a level 1 course in your preferred subject area at Kirklees College. This course is a great platform for you to start a career with the work experience you will gain on the course.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Students will need to indicate that you are working at least entry level 2 English. You will have an interview with the course tutor to make sure the course is right for you and to see if you have any additional support needs. You will need to bring your progress file with you. Foundation Learning course entry requirements include a minimum of Milestone 7/8.
