Launceston College - Apprenticeship Training

Having an apprenticeship Champion at the Academy has enabled outstanding support to all learners who wish to pursue a career as an apprentice and employers to include recruitment , training opportunities and procedures that need to be in place, especially now with the new levy and non-levy procedures.

All our vocational training team have up to date advanced skills and knowledge in their industry with many years of experience of the apprenticeship standards and delivery methods. The Academy at present has a Construction building that it fully equipped for learners from intermediate to advanced level and a mechanical engineering workshop. These units are in the heart of an industrial area where there are many employers.

We also have a professional Kitchen, dining area, double bedroom and a hair and beauty salon which are in a separate purpose built building and designed as expected in industry. We also have a commercial Nursery on site. They are all open to the General Public.

All of our resources are up to date. Close links with businesses within our community has supported our learners to be moulded, inspired and motivated towards an apprenticeship. Employers are very much involved and support the excellent learning needs for all of learners’, which includes all apprentices.
