What you will learn
With over 35,000 certified professionals, the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (IGC) is widely respected throughout the world and is essential for anybody working in or looking to work in the field of health and safety.
It provides an excellent introduction to occupational safety and health and is suitable for working in all types of organisations and industries. The NEBOSH National/International General Certificate offers you the chance to study for either a national or international certification in health and safety.
This course will ready the student to assess risks to health and safety as well as implementing measures to counter those risks. The national certification covers legislation in the UK while the international certificate covers global legislation. Completion of this course will give the student a solid base from which to undertake the NEBOSH National/ International Diploma.

- Equipment hazards and control
- Electrical, fire, chemical, biological, physical and psychological hazards and control
- Hazards and risk control
- Health and safety foundation
Course Certification Details
NEBOSH National / International General Certificate Course Assessment
The NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety training course is available in either a National or International qualification. These are the examination requirements that are required for each of the two qualification options:
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Write and pass the NGC1 exam
- Write and pass the NGC2 exam
- Complete the practical assignment for NGC3
NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Write and pass the IGC1 exam
- Write and pass the IGC2 exam
- Complete the practical assignment for IGC3
Once you have completed the requirements, you will earn either your NEBOSH National or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. The workplace-based practical assignment for the National General Certificate must be submitted within 10 working days of the written exams. The International General Certificate must be submitted within 14 working days of the written exams.
