Blockchain has evolved from a technology that allowed for the creation of Bitcoin to a digital tool with a wide range of applications, including in law. One of the more popular uses is for smart contracts. As their use is growing, the need to fully understand them also grows.


This handy 1 hour introduction will explore the basics of blockchain, its security and limitations and the legal applications, a brief overview of smart contracts, and the current status of smart contracts in law and in practice. It is presented by Dr Heather Anson, a multi-jurisdictional consultant at Digital Law and highly experienced speaker.
