Training Course Content

Introduction

During this virtual classroom seminar we will discuss the current regulations that underpin the present Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) and the type of properties to which MEES apply, key milestone dates applicable within the regulations, their implications and minimum energy efficiency rating.

We will further consider exemption rules; the underpinning evidence required and procedure to be followed to register exemptions.

Looking forward we will examine the proposed changes to the MEES requirements planned to commence in 2025 for both domestic and non-domestic premises, the timescales for implementation, registering of rented properties, the proposed compliance windows, and potential cost liabilities for landlords.

For commercial premises we will consider the proposed shell and core exemption period, the proposed payback calculator to reduce administration, commercial tenants’ responsibilities, and the EPC ratings to be achieved at each stage of the compliance periods.
