This course is for students working or volunteering in schools or a school setting who wish to further their career and build their knowledge and experience. This course requires a placement in a school setting for 12 hours a week and you will be assessed in the workplace by a qualified assessor. Alongside improving your knowledge of theories of learning and development and school policy, you will develop a wide range of personal, transferable skills, such as teamwork, communication skills, self-assessment, planning, and development, which will benefit you as you progress through your career. Gain confidence to take on larger groups of children and more responsibility. Progress into employment and onto the Level 4 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

- Support the development of speech and language needs in children
- Understand the effects of transitions on children
