What will you learn
After looking at and discussing examples and samples, the tutor will demonstrate how to stretch a silk screen and explore different methods of silkscreen printing including cutting simple paper stencils to print onto fabric. Students will create a design using a photographic image or hand drawn methods. After learning how to coat the screen with photo emulsion students will expose the devised image permanently onto the coated screen.
Students will experiment by printing with different screens, combining paper stencils with photo silkscreens and experimenting with layers of colour on cloth.
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress on your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
