What you will learn
On this course we aim to cover one work by each of the named authors over two consecutive lessons. Discussions will open with talking about what we find dramatic or interesting in the work, and what we do not fully understand or appreciate. Then through tutor led activities and an open forum of debate, we will consider themes and concepts present in Victorian literature, learn about the cultural and literary contexts in which it was created and analyse why a work of literature has transcended the era in which it was written to be regarded as a classic.
In order to ensure that you make the best possible progress ou your course, you will have regular feedback from your tutor, in a constructive and supportive environment.
