FdSc Sports Therapy
The overall aim of this course is to provide a course of study that prepares you for a career in Sports Therapy or a starting point for higher study. During this course you will be required to perform a range of basic and advanced sports massage techniques competently and assess their benefit; carry out assessments of the major joints in the body; describe the musculoskeletal anatomy of tissues associated with sports injuries; demonstrate professional practice within practical situations; demonstrate the safe use of electrotherapy and evaluate the use of treatment strategies for common sports injuries.

Entry Requirements
Please see the typical offer list below. A wide range of qualifications are accepted. Applicants may also be offered a place on the basis of their experience and we would welcome applications from mature students or people currently working in industry who are seeking Continuing Professional Development or part time opportunities. All applicants are expected to demonstrate an interest in the environment. Applicants are expected to demonstrate an interest in sports coaching, sports science and psychology.

On completion of this course you can progress onto the BSc (Hons) Top Up degree in Sports Therapy. Alternative career opportunities may include massage therapy work within professional/semi-professional sports clubs or private health clubs.
