You will learn how to write a basic webpage using HTML and CSS, hyperlinks and images. We’ll then look at backend coding including PHP and Python.
Your tutor will teach you by group discussion and individual tasks. You will receive handouts and tasks to complete, with one-to-one help as appropriate. Your tutor will also introduce you to Newcastle City Learning’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
All materials for your course will be provided by your tutor, but please bring a pen, notepaper and file as you will probably find it useful to take extra notes and store your handouts in. If you have your own laptop or tablet, you can work on that, alternately, PCs are provided. You may wish to bring your own USB drive (memory stick) to save work onto.
Please see our brochure, visit our website at ask your local centre or contact the number below for full details of where and when this course is available together with a full breakdown of fees.
Suitability - Who should attend?
You should have a good level of literacy as you will need to read handouts independently and produce a portfolio of work, or have ESOL Skills for Life Entry Level 3 Certificate. You should also be fairly confident using a computer and have a good understanding of the internet.
