Graphic Design - IntermediateNottingham Trent University
Graphic Design - Intermediate
This course is aimed at those with an understanding of graphic design, ideally through professional experience or by having attended a beginner’s course at NTU or elsewhere.
It is suitable for those wishing to hone and expand their creative skills with a focus on ideas, creative thinking and visual problem-solving, promoting their creativity at a professional, commercial audience.
Workshop and project-based sessions will combine theoretical discussions with practical applications.
Ideally, you should have some prior experience of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator at beginners’ level or above, though an introduction will be given if required.
And please note that this is not a software training course – the computer will only be used as a tool to realise some of your project work.
The course can help build a portfolio, or act as a subject refresher or expander for those considering degree level study or a change of career.
This intermediate course is intended to lead on from the beginner’s short course, although both can be taken independently.
On this course, you will:
- learn how to develop ideas
- create compositions using words, pictures and colour
- explore layout design in posters, brochures and magazines
- create new logos and identity designs and understand the principles of design for print.
What will you gain?
By the end of the course, you will have developed your visual problem-solving and idea generation skills to then apply to your profession.
