How Pradeep Built a Successful Accounting Career

Like many other students Pradeep was unsure about how to start a career in accounting. 

“I came to London in 2013 and started working as a customer service advisor in the post office, which allowed me to get exposure to the new culture and learn work management. However my background always urged me to work in accountancy field.

"It was very difficult to choose how and where to study accountancy. To become an accountant was dream and goal of my life. I wanted to study and work simultaneously but joining university or colleges was not possible as it was time consuming and expensive.”

Then she decided to start the AAT qualification at Osborne Training.

“My family was very supportive and they suggested me to join AAT. As I had already studied my Masters in Commerce so I did not want to study all the levels, I decided to do online assessment on the AAT accounting website which allows me to identify which level of accounting courses is required. For me it was AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting.

I joined Osborne Training in London which was offering fast track course to finish level 4 within 6 to 7 months. Working and studying together was a big challenge for me but it helped me to boost my skills.

After completing my course I started working as an accounts assistant with M & S consultancy which is a chartered accountancy firm. I am now shortlisted now for a Senior Accountant position and hoping for a promotion (fingers crossed).

I continued my studies to grow in my career with the help of AAT. Flexible timings and easy to understand study materials helped me to manage work and study together and finish my course faster.”
