This 16 credit course is for those who wish to explore an interest in counselling and improve, extend and enhance their listening skills. It is for those who are interested in theory, who wish to develop, and who are considering progressing on to become a qualified counsellor. Students will develop knowledge of three main counselling theoretical approaches and gain an understanding of the contexts and ethics relevant in the use of counselling skills. In this course there are four modules: Counselling Skills and Personal Development; Using Counselling Skills; Introduction to Counselling Theories and Diversity and Ethics in the use of Counselling Skills. On completion of this course, you may wish to apply to our Level 3 Counselling Skills Diploma and then consider our Higher Education programmes.
