Course description
Livestock Transport (Short Journeys) NPTC Certificate:
This course is designed for anyone who transports commercial animals on journeys of more than 65 kilometres and less than 8 hours, as they are expected to have and to carry with them a Certificate of Competence.
One hour training session covering the following:
- Certificate of Competence
- Journey times
- Animal Transport Certificate
- Fitness to Travel
- Vehicle and loading facility
- Separation
- Animal transporter Authorisation
- Prohibited methods of handling
- Certification
Certification is species based, with an exam for each of the following categories:
- Cattle and sheep combined exam
- Cattle
- Sheep
- Pigs
- Poultry
- Horses
- Game Birds
- Goats
We will provide you with a laptop for the exam/s. No practical, only theory based.
