Course description

ILM Level 3 Award in Effective Coaching

The Level 3 programme includes the following three units:

  • Understanding good practice in coaching within an organisational context
  • Undertaking coaching within an organisational context (6 hrs award)
  • Reflecting on coaching skills within an organisational context

Learners follow a programme of agreed learning, development and assessment that allows them to successfully achieve their qualification. The programmes contain the following activities:

  • Induction and learning materials, course book
  • 3 days of workshops plus online support
  • 2-3 hours tutorials and supervision of coaching practice
  • Peer coaching practice

Suitability - Who should attend?

This qualification is designed either for people in their first management roles – including team leaders and first-line managers or independent coaches. You will get the tools and confidence to coach people as part of your normal working role or as an additional role.

To gain their qualification each leaner must complete the following: -

  • Produce one written assignment on effective coaching good practice
  • Produce a portfolio of evidence on a coaching undertaken, with reflections, feedback and reviews using one or two individuals for a total of at least 6 hours

Training Course Content

This programme is suitable for those who wish to coach staff in the workplace or similar context. The Award includes three units:

  • Understanding good practice in coaching within an organisational context
  • Undertaking coaching within an organisational context (6 hrs award)
  • Reflecting on coaching skills within an organisational context

The ‘Understanding’ Unit provides the firm foundation of knowledge and understanding which underpins good practice, the ‘Undertaking’ unit provides a framework for the contracting and practical delivery of coaching hours for 1 or 2 coachees over a period of time and the ‘Reflecting’ unit provides for the coach to learn how to review, monitor, evaluate their own practice and build their future development plans all under the supervision of an experience coach tutor.

Programme includes the following modules with integrated practical coaching throughout:

Module 1: Coaching Essentials

Module 2: Ethics and Contracting

Module 3: Coaching Process, Models, Techniques

Module 4: Coaching Records and Supervision

Module 5: ILM Assessment Preparation


Methods of Payment

Payment of the course fees must be made in advance and should be made at the time of placing a booking or immediately after receiving an invoice (within 14 days). Courses fees are fully exclusive of all ILM components.

Payment can be made by cheque payable to Quality Education and Development Ltd or by bank transfer. All invoices contain our bank account information and will include correct information on course prices.

Instalment Policy

QED offers instalment options to clients, for ILM programmes 50% fee is required at the time of booking, the remaining fees are due 25% after 1 month from the course commencing and 25% after a further month. VAT applicable on all invoices.
