Course description

ILM Level 7 Certificate for Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors

The Level 7 programme includes the following three units:

  • Understanding the principles and practice of effective coaching and mentoring at an executive or senior level
  • Undertaking coaching or mentoring at an executive or senior level (20 hrs cert)
  • Reflecting on your ability to perform effectively as a coach or mentor at an executive or senior level

Learners follow a programme of agreed learning, development and assessment that allows them to successfully achieve their qualification. The programmes contain the following activities:

  • Induction and learning materials, course book
  • 5 days of workshops plus webinars and online learning
  • 2-3 hours tutorials and supervision of coaching practice
  • Peer coaching practice

Suitability - Who should attend?

These qualifications are for senior managers or Human Resources (HR)/Organisation Development (OD) professionals who wish to develop their expertise and credibility in the fields of Executive and Senior level coaching and mentoring, or to establish coaching at an organisational level. They are also ideal for professional coaches and mentors seeking to enhance and accredit their experience with a nationally recognised qualification.

Assessment

To gain their qualification each leaner must complete the following: -

  • Produce one written assignment on executive/senior level coaching and mentoring
  • Produce a portfolio of evidence on a coaching undertaken, with reflections, feedback and reviews using two or three individuals for a total of at least 20 hours
  • Coach/Mentor is either observed or recorded as part of supervision to gain feedback and insight

Training Course Content

This programme is suitable for those with experience as senior managers/leaders/HR professionals and who wish to coach/mentor senior staff internally or as independent executive coaches and mentors. The Certificate includes three units:

  • Understanding the principles and practice of effective coaching and mentoring at executive or senior level
  • Undertaking coaching or at an executive or senior level (20 hrs cert)
  • Reflecting on your ability to perform effectively as a coach or mentor at an executive or senior level

The ‘Understanding’ Unit provides the firm foundation of knowledge and understanding which underpins good practice, the ‘Undertaking’ units provide a framework for the contracting and practical delivery of executive or senior level coaching/mentoring hours for 2-3 coachees/mentees over a period of time and the ‘Reflecting’ unit provides for the coach/mentor to learn how to review, monitor, evaluate their own practice and build their future development plans all under the supervision of an experienced coach tutor.

Programme includes the following modules with integrated practical coaching throughout:

Module 1: Coaching Context, Strategic Purpose and Principles, Impact

Module 2: Ethics and Contracting at Executive and Senior level

Module 3: Coaching Process, Models, Techniques

Module 4: Coaching Reflective Practice, Supervision, Records

Module 5: ILM Assessment Preparation

Methods of Payment

Payment of the course fees must be made in advance and should be made at the time of placing a booking or immediately after receiving an invoice (within 14 days). Courses fees are fully exclusive of all ILM components.

Payment can be made by cheque payable to Quality Education and Development Ltd or by bank transfer. All invoices contain our bank account information and will include correct information on course prices.

Instalment Policy

QED offers instalment options to clients, for ILM programmes 50% fee is required at the time of booking, the remaining fees are due 25% after 1 month from the course commencing and 25% after a further month. VAT applicable on all invoices.
