Course description
This qualification should enable you to gain a deeper understanding of the role of a mentor and develop the skills needed to become an effective mentor. You will gain insight into the role and practice of mentorship, learn about the mentor/mentee relationship, develop the specific skills and understanding required to mentor as well as reflect on your own learning and its benefits.
What will I learn?
The course is made up of three units:
The role of a mentor
Preparing for the role of a mentor
Demonstrating mentoring skills and techniques.
How will the course be delivered?
A mixture of workshops, discussions, presentations and practical sessions. There is a strong practical element and learners will be expected to participate in discussions and workshops including role-plays. You should expect to commit to 2 - 3 hours a week on personal research and homework.
