Course description
The course is for those who want to design and make their own stained glass panels. The course is suitable for beginners and for those who already have some experience. The course is about learning how to design for glass by working with colour, texture and light and using additional decorative techniques in order to make stained glass panels.
You will learn all the skills and techniques needed in order to make a stained glass panel: developing a design; drawing a cartoon and, from it, an accurate cutting pattern; cutting glass; leading; soldering; cementing; finishing. You will also be introduced to copper foiling and different techniques for decorating the glass surface, such as painting, fusing and sandblasting.

Suitability - Who should attend?
There are no entry requirements other than an interest and enthusiasm for the subject. If you are pregnant, you should consult your GP before enrolling on this course, as working with lead and solder could be harmful to the developing baby. Learners will be expected to follow the course programme and attend regularly to ensure progression.
