What will I learn?
This course will introduce you to the basic elements of creative writing. You will find the space, and given encouragement, to start your writing journey, wherever it will take you. Course Content • What is creative writing? • Freeing your descriptive powers by observing the world around you • Using your memory and life as a source • What kind of stories do you want to write? Explore your writer's voice • A look at structure and the arc of a story • The different types of character and the part they can play in your story • The viewpoint of your story. Who is telling it? • Free your linguistic powers with metaphor, simile, rhythm and pace • The different genres of writing • Navigating the seas of publishing.
What do I need to know?
Level 2 literacy (GCSE A*-C or equivalent)or above recommended for this course.
