Course description
What will I learn?
This regular session will provide a forum for writers of some experience, who would like to share their work regularly in a constructive atmosphere. The sessions will be tutor led; the tutor will also introduce short sessions on aspects of writing each week. Whether your project is a novel, a memoir, short stories or flash fiction, you will find this an invaluable and supportive space in which to progress your work. Each week writers read out their work for critical feedback from the group. The range and genres are wide and the discussions are thorough. Over the ten weeks you may bring in consecutive chapters of longer work which give the group useful insights into your overall arc, or read out shorter stories or flash fiction in their entirety. Listening to the responses of other writers can be a huge help in determining how ready your piece is for submitting to publishers. Each week there will be a tutor led discussion on aspects of writing and the publishing business. This is an ongoing and constantly-evolving course.
