Modern and Traditional Quilting at Hillcroft: Quilting is much more of a diverse creative medium than is widely known. On this course you will be taught a number of technique-focused traditional skills but then encouraged to think about ways of harnessing this significant craft to create a contemporary outcome.

A perfect introduction to the concept of Slow Textiles, this course will look at ways of creating a �modern heirloom�. We will consider the significance of fabric choice and symbolism in design to help you produce something that can be handed down through generations of your family for years to come.

This course will help you focus your energy, help with mindfulness, introduce you to new skills and celebrate a wonderful historical craft.

You will be taught the basics of quilt making and will look at the theory of piecing exploring hand and machine stitching methods of attachment.

The course is designed to be a personal design journey as well as an exploration of craft, and you will be supported in producing a very unique outcome that you can take home and cherish.
