Falls Prevention Level 2 Certificate: These distance learning courses start on a regular basis and will enhance the knowledge of anyone working in Health & Social Care, improving their practice and also counting towards their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).You must be 18 or over to enrol. These courses require a good level of English and you will take an assessment held at Shipley College to confirm your place. These courses are delivered via distance learning and take up to 14 weeks to complete. To succeed on a distance learning course, you must be motivated to meet deadlines and produce detailed quality work without supervision.Normally, the fees are �300, but a 100% fee reduction may apply to you if you are in receipt of benefits and actively seeking employment or employed and on a low income.All distance learning courses start on the following dates: 04/09/19, 03/10/19, 04/11/19, 07/01/20, 05/02/20, 05/03/20, 30/03/20, 05/05/20, 10/06/20 and 02/07/crease your awareness and understanding of falls and their prevention, which will allow progression in to, or within, employment in healthcare or social care settings. You gain knowledge and understanding of the impact and consequences of a fall, risks and hazards which contribute to falls and how to reduce the risk of them happening. The course also covers the importance of recording and reporting any incidence of falls to ensure that interventions can be put in place to reduce the risk and their reoccurrence. This qualification is aimed at anyone working in a healthcare or social care environment, particularly those that support or have contact with older people who have an increased propensity to falls.
