Children�s Play, Learning & Development (Early Years Assistant) BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma: This course is an ideal qualification if you want to progress in to employment in the early years� sector. You learn the skills, knowledge and behaviours expected by employers in the early years� sector. This includes learning about the policy & practice for working in early years, child development and supporting children�s learning through play, as well as how to support children�s communication and literacy & language development. There are two external assessments and you will have an opportunity to do GCSE maths and English if you need to. You will also complete a work placement for 280 hours to give you a practical insight in to the industry. Please note, you need to buy a College polo shirt (approx �14).

Suitability - Who should attend?
� 2 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, in English & maths.orA full Level 1 at Pass grade, plus a GCSE grade 3 (D) or above in English & maths.� You will have an interview and further assessment to check the course is right for you.� A keen interest in working with children.� A clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the start of the course.
