Arabic (Levantine) Proficiency

This course aims at providing students with communicative opportunities to enable them to engage in interactive activities for the duration of the class time. Class instructions are delivered only in Arabic language. Students are encouraged to interact only in Arabic with the teacher and with their peers. Students are encouraged to participate in creative speaking activities, such as discussion, debate and report about current events.

There are two consolidation sessions throughout the course, one in the middle of the course and one at the end of the course. Consolidation exercises aim at practicing the learned materials through different activities. Teaching methods target language skills of the whole group as well as individual learners; making sure that everyone is learning according to their own learning styles.

By the end of the course learners are expected to converse fluently in a wide range of topics by engaging the language knowledge they have acquired over their past learning experience and using a variety of expressions. By the end of this level students are expected to be able to produce creative pieces of writing, read long authentic texts and convey the meaning in their first Language accurately.
