Arabic (Levantine) Upper Intermediate

This course aims at providing students with communicative skills to enable them to engage in a range of interactive activities and situations. Class instructions are delivered only in Arabic language with occasional resort to English as may be needed to introduce new grammatical topics. Students are encouraged to participate in creative speaking activities, inventing interactive situations, telling stories, creating story plots and/or making up new endings to unfinished stories.

There are two consolidation sessions; one in the middle of the course and one at the end of the course. Consolidation exercises aim at practicing the learned materials through different activities. Teaching methods target language skills for the whole group as well as individual learners; making sure that everyone is learning according to their own learning styles.

By the end of the course learners are expected to converse in the topics they have covered by engaging the language knowledge they have acquired throughout their past learning experience. By the end of this course and at this Level, student are expected to use Arabic with much fluency and language spelling system accurately. Students will equally be able to read authentic texts in Arabic and convey the meaning in their first Language with increasing accuracy.
