Arabic (Modern Standard) Beginners 2

This course is a natural progression from Arabic Beginners 1. The course builds on a student’s knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic in both the receptive skills (listening and reading) and the productive skills (speaking and writing). Grammar is introduced largely in the context of conversation drills and dialogues based around particular activities. The course is taught in English and Arabic, and a variety of materials specifically created by SOAS Language Centre teachers are used alongside the main textbook. In class, students are encouraged to interact with each other using Arabic, engaging with all the activities that form part of the course. Outside of the class, students are encouraged to revise what has been taught, so that progress may be made as the material covered becomes more complex.
