Course description
This course aims to ensure that students use Persian in ways that are increasingly challenging resulting in a particular goal: an extended command of the Persian language. This course focuses on the acquisition of practical communicative skills. There are practical topics, each with a list of new vocabulary and additional revision and offering students the opportunity to check their progress.
The course is taught mainly in Persian and further develops the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students engage in interactive language activities, participating in group and pair work to practice vocabulary, expressions, grammar and structures. There is an overview, consolidation and feedback session in the final week, concentrating on the material covered in the term.
There are a variety of activities such as group discussions, role-play and crosswords. Reading and writing activities help students to become increasingly independent in their use of Persian. By the end of the term, students are able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of immediate relevance to daily life.
