Solihull College & University Centre offers a wide range of school leaver, university level and adult courses across a variety of exciting subject areas. Courses are designed with the help of top employers to ensure students leave ready for the workplace. Many courses are offered full and part-time allowing students to fit study around work and family life. The College was recently graded ‘Good’ across all areas by Ofsted.
Facilities
The College’s facilities are unmatched in the region, with recent investment in virtual reality and industry-standard science laboratories at Blossomfield Campus, along with an animal care centre housing hundreds of exotic species and a fully equipped sports centre. The Centre for Advanced Aeronautical Provision featuring world class flight simulators and a former Royal Navy aircraft recently opened at Woodlands Campus, along with modern construction and motor vehicle workshops. Both campuses offer fully equipped libraries and a Costa coffee for students to relax in between classes.
TEF Gold Rating
Solihull College & University Centre is the only College in the West Midlands to have been awarded a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) ‘Gold’ rating for its university level provision.
Evidence proved that the College had ‘outstanding input to course design and curricular content, outstanding personalised provision, high quality physical and digital resources used to enhance student learning, and an embedded institutional culture with staff working towards higher education and teaching qualifications’.
Findings from the framework also stated that there were ‘excellent outcomes for students and outstanding levels of student satisfaction.’"
Types of Courses Offered
At Solihull College & University Centre our recruitment team have a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. We work closely with employers to ensure they receive apprenticeship candidates of the very highest calibre. Alternatively, employers can choose to up-skill their current employees through an apprenticeship.
With over 1,500 apprentices currently in over 750 businesses and with over 40 apprenticeship frameworks from Level 2 to Level 5, we have all the tools and experience necessary to help your organisation. We can even develop frameworks designed specifically to fit your organisation's needs.
