Course description

This Level 2 Diploma is the perfect qualification to get you started if you feel you have what it takes to pursue a career in the Performing Arts industry. You may have some experience in acting, vocals and dance but feel you need further expert training to help you improve your skills, if so, then this is the course for you! You will begin the course with a group of budding performers and receive specialist training, industry know-how and personal tuition to hone your skills and strengthen your talents.

During the course, you will study the following: The Performing Arts Industry; Performance project; Developing acting skills and techniques; Developing dance skills and techniques; Devising drama; Performing scripted plays and Musical theatre performance. You will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of productions to a live audience and gain work experience within the Performing Arts industry. You will also benefit from theatre trips, backstage tours and visits from Performing Arts practitioners.

You will be assessed on your practical work, both in sessions and in performance and through your written assignments and coursework. Attendance and application in all areas is essential for successful course completion. If you are successful on the course you could progress on to the Level 3 BTEC Performing Arts qualification.

Suitability - Who should attend?

You should have 2 GCSEs at grade D/ 5 or above, one of which must be English Language, along with a successful interview and school report.


This course is free for students aged 16 to 18 years. Adults may need to pay their fees. Price may vary depending on individual circumstances.
