How Justina Dealt with Redundancy
Organisational structuring models like Lean and Six Sigma are in vogue. For companies, this can mean maximised profits with lower costs. For some unlucky employees, this can result in redundancy.
After restructuring in her organisation, Justina Barratt found herself in just this situation.
When it comes to redundancy, you have a few options: give up, seek replacement employment in the same job role, risking redundancy for the second time or improve your skillset towards positive career advancement. Presented in this way, the better choice may seem obvious.
When it came time to improve her qualifications, Justina put in the time and did her research. She considered her interests, professional experience and existing skills and began to search for appropriate qualifications and providers. Soon enough, Justina found a course provider that offered a professional setting, hands-on course work and nationally recognized qualifications.
Justina began a diploma in Administration, which combined a 3-day practical course in administrative skills and an IT segment in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. The course provided included all course materials as well as easy access to computers, but it was Souters’ friendly staff and post-course support that made the experience. As a result, Justina was able to gain knowledge of the administration field, improve her IT skills and secure the confidence to “focus on a career rather than just a job.”
Just 2 weeks after completing the course, Justina received a job offer as an NHS Administrator.
When asked if she would recommend the Souter’s Administration Diploma, here is what Justina had to say:
“Do not hesitate. You won’t regret it. A bit of motivation and effort, combined with the extensive support of Souters tutors, will bring the results you are trying to achieve.”
