Course description

Wouldn’t it be great if you could understand the behavioural issues with your pet to treat them accordingly? If that sounds great, then this course in Advanced Diploma in Animal Psychology – Level 3 will be of great benefit for you. This comprehensive course has been developed to help pet owners and professionals in related industries to understand animal psychology and to provide appropriate support for the pets. All this course requires from you is a recognised qualification at Level 2 or above in a related disciple, as this course is set to dedicate 18 guided learning hours to get you up to speed with pet psychology.

It is totally normal for pets to growl when their food bowl is taken, jump onto people, show aggression to visitors or to act out. However, it is important for pet owners to discipline their pets with regards to these aspects, which will be discussed systematically through this course. You will be taught on how to use rewards as a means to instill good behaviours in your pets and on the other ways to discipline and train your pets. The separation anxiety, which is prevalent in most pets, will also be addressed in this course, along with solutions on how to deal with them appropriately.

Our tutors will enlighten you on the signs of boredom, fright, depression and agitation in your pets to help you respond to them accordingly. This course will also guide owners to discipline pets that do not get along with children, followed by tips and tricks on how to maintain a strong relationship with your pets to change most of their aggressive behaviours.

The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards and Certa Awards Quality Licence Scheme. This means that South London College has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet defined quality criteria. The completion of this course alone does not lead to a regulated qualification* but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills gained. The Learner Unit Summary may be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this subject. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 3 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of demand/complexity involved in successful completion by the learner.

The course itself has been designed by South London College to meet specific learners’ and/or employers’ requirements which cannot be satisfied through current regulated qualifications.
