Diabetes is a disease that affects more than 400 millions of people worldwide. The global prevalence of diabetes has risen from 4.7% in 1980 to 8.5% in 2014, making it a rapidly increasing disease mainly in the low and middle income countries. Inadequate treatment for diabetes might lead to blindness, kidney failures, heart attacks, strokes and lower limb amputation. Therefore, it is important for everyone, especially healthcare professionals, to be aware on diabetes to act accordingly.

This course is the perfect guide that will enlighten healthcare professionals on their role in diabetes awareness and on how to provide assistance to diabetic patients. Diabetes exist in various stages, and all these stages have different symptoms and different treatment methods. This course curriculum will also cover these stages of diabetes and the complications it has on a person’s body to further solidify your knowledge on the area.

This course will teach you on how to treat diabetes based on the stage, person’s health, age and other factors, along with guidance on how to monitor the disease and provide support whenever necessary. The common medications used in diabetes will also be duly discussed through this course, along with tip and tricks that could help avoid or contain diabetes. Access Duration

Method of Assessment

At the end of the Advanced Diploma in Diabetes Awareness Level 3 you will be evaluated through written assignments. In order to complete this programme successfully, all students are required to complete a series of assignments. The completed assignments must be submitted via the online portal. Your instructor will review and evaluate your work and provide your feedback based on how well you have completed your assignments.
