Our cake decorating courses will teach you professional skills that will prepare you well to set up your own business or for progression to further study on our accredited cake decorating courses.
Introduction
Learn to craft beautifully decorated cakes to wow family and friends. This course will guide you through a range of skills and techniques from making icings to more challenging methods for making your own professional standard creations.
During this course you'll cover a range of topics and learn new skills that could include:
Using marzipan and sugarpaste to coat cakes
Cutting, carving and decorating an adult or childrens' theme novelty cake
Decorating a two-tier stacked cake
Creating a 2D sugar cartoon character
Modelling edible decorations for a cake top
Developing piping skills with royal icing and buttercream.
Assessment
Your teacher will give you feedback and advice. You'll work with your classmates to evaluate each other's work. You'll also complete an individual learning plan.
