English and mathsMost universities ask for GCSE English and maths grade A*-C/9-4.If you're missing one of these GCSEs at the required grade:You will need to sit an assessment and depending on your results, you could study a GCSE course or a Level 2 Functional Skills course alongside Access. This option is intensive so you'll need to be committed to studying the extra hours. If you're missing both GCSE English and maths A*-C/9-4 or your assessment results show you're unlikely to get above grade D/3:You'll need to take an English and/or maths Functional Skills or GCSE course before studying Access to develop your skills in this area.In some cases we may consider equivalent international qualifications. Please ask our team about this when you come in for interview. If you don't have GCSEs A*-C/9-4, don't forget we have other options that might suit you. If you're employed our apprenticeships team can help you get qualified while you work, and we have plenty of courses to prepare you for further study or work.
