Course description
This course is based on the national occupational standards for supporting teaching and learning in schools. Whether you're new to the education sector, already working in teaching or want to move into a school setting, this course will teach you the range of knowledge needed to support a teacher in the classroom.
The course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence. You'll also be visited by an assessor to observe you supporting learning in the workplace. On completion, you can progress on to a Level 3 course in supporting teaching and learning.

Expenses
You will need a reasonable level of literacy and numeracy. You need a paid or voluntary teaching support placement of six hours a week or more for the whole of your course. Youll need to arrange this before you enrol. It can be in a primary, secondary, or special care school but not a nursery. You will need to arrange with your placement school for your DBS check. We can interview you before you arrange your placement but you must bring proof of your placement to enrolment to get onto the course.
