Course description
Introduction
Tai Chi and Qigong are great for health and joyous movement - join a class for developing calmness and balance in body and mind.
This course will further your practice of the Tai Chi forms. Integral to the course are Qigong energy exercises. Tai Chi is a discipline which can be worked on and developed over a lifetime. Sometimes individual progression may be slow but you will always find it rewarding. By the end of this course you'll be able to:
Perform movements of the Tai Chi forms
Continue to practice some of the sequence of forms for yourself
Perform Qigong exercises
Achieve some calmness and balance in the body and mind.
Assessment
Teacher feedback, individual learning plans, student and peer self-assessment, sharing of work in groups and partner work.
Next Steps
You can move onto the same course the following term to develop your skills further. You may wish to carry on learning and practising for many years and apply it to everyday life. It's possible to practise with a group locally during the summer break.

There are no entry requirements other than the basic ability to be able to walk reasonably well and climb a few stairs. You should wait a while before starting if you've had very recent surgery or an injury. The class is suitable for any age group. You're encouraged to learn at your own pace and energy level.
