Revit Architecture Beyond the Basics
After learning the basics, many Revit users never get an opportunity to advance their skills due to the pressures of working in an architectural firm. And you are probably aware that you could be working smarter by how long it takes you to complete certain modelling tasks, compared to others. Does this sound like you? Our 2-day Revit Architecture Beyond the Basics course is your chance to improve your modelling using a wide range of intermediate skills.
As a result of attending this training, you will be able to use Revit to develop a project from scratch and understand the BIM workflow, from site design to massing studies, curtain walling, advanced viewing techniques, space planning, area analysis, solar studies, energy analysis, phasing and design options.

- Set up a site by linking CAD files to establish location information
- Understand coordinates and project orientation
- Understand the power of Revit's space planning
- Work with tools for defining usable space
- Identify elevations of a site, import 3D contour data
- Assign materials to surfaces to identify roads, lakes, hills
- Add parking spaces & vegetation, render the site, create a parking space schedule
- Use massing to develop the shape and footprint of a building from scratch
- Add walls, roofs, curtain systems, and floors to a mass element
- Differentiate between existing, new and temporary elements of the building
- Create physical building elements from the concept model without redrawing
- Provide more realistic views of your design to help you visualise your work
- Create a walkthrough of your model and export to an AVI file
- Create an exploded view to explain a project or complex detail
- Graphically view sun locations and their impact on your project for early-stage analysis
