Automated External Defibrillation and CPRSt John Ambulance
Automated External Defibrillation & CPR- 3 Hour Course
For each minute that passes without defibrillation after the heart stops, the casualty’s chance of survival falls by about 10%*
Defibrillators are very simple to operate, and no previous first aid training is required. This three-hour course gives people the confidence to act quickly and effectively in an emergency.
Crucially, St John Ambulance will teach your defibrillator operators how to perform effective CPR in the event of a cardiac arrest as well as giving candidates the confidence and skills to use any type of defibrillator.

This Automated External Defibrillation (AED) course delivered by St John Ambulance is designed to equip delegates with the skills needed to take action in the case of a cardiac arrest, providing the casualty with CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) as well as AED.
The risk of death from cardiac arrest can be severely reduced by equipping workplaces with defibrillators and teaching members of staff how to use them effectively. This half day programme provides participants with all the essential skills required by AED operators, as well as the confidence to know how to act in an emergency situation. During the course they will familiarise themselves with the AED and it's operation, and develop a greater understanding of how to treat and resuscitate and unconscious casualty using effective CPR.
The course is an ideal way for participants to further their emergency first aid skills, but also serves as a basic module for healthcare workers.
