The Lean Six Sigma Methodology

The Six Sigma approach is grounded in a  specific set of quality management methods, which includes statistical methods, and creates an infrastructure of people within an organisation who can be Champions, Black Belts, Green Belts and Yellow Belts according to their level of expertise.

Every Six Sigma project that a business carries out will follow a predefined sequence of steps with quantified value targets, such as the reduction of process cycle time, pollution and costs; and the increase of profits and customer satisfaction. These are the core principles of Total Quality Management (TQM).

Six Sigma Black Belts operate under the group of experts that are directly above them, known as Master Black Belts in order to apply the Six Sigma methodology to specific projects.

Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma Environments

Black Belts devote 100% of their time to Six Sigma and primarily focus on project execution and specific leadership tasks. Champions and Master Black Belts focus on identifying projects and functions for Six Sigma. Black Belts also provide guidance to the Green Belts below them who implement Six Sigma alongside their other responsibilities.

There are many Black Belt training courses that employees can take in order to improve business processes, but it is vital that these courses are properly certified.

The Benefits of Black Belt Training Courses

The proper implementation of Six Sigma within an organisation has many benefits. Organisations will have a competitive advantage and experience a change in the culture of the organisation from previously reactive solving of problems to more proactive problem prevention techniques.

Measure the rewards of a sustainable Six Sigma culture in your organisation

Other benefits for an organisation that implements Six Sigma include: Bottom line cost savings of 5%-20% per annum, an improved quality of products and services according to internal and external customer feedback, the reduction in process cycle times and the development of staff skills.

Individuals that complete Black Belt or other levels of training will experience an improvement in knowledge and skills, the ability to use a wide range of tools and techniques, and status that is recognised the world over.
